Exciting News!

We are happy to announce that Dr. Patterson has asked our Reader's Theater Club to perform during the 3rd Nine Weeks Award Program!!! We are honored to have this opportunity and are getting to work on preparations!
During our club meeting today, we read 4 stories in which our skits will be based on: The Three Little Pigs, The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, The Three Billy Goats Gruff, and Goldilocks and the Three Little Bears.
The students are encouraged to watch the read alouds over the next couple of weeks and decide what role they would like to have.
We will have conversations with the students before the next meeting to discuss possible character role options.

We are looking forward to our next club meeting!

Boo to a Goose

 

 

Our young actors had a great afternoon in Reader's Theater! We read Boo to a Goose by Mem Fox. Mem is from Australia, and she states that she wrote Boo to a Goose because it is a saying they use in Australia. We usually say, "they are afraid of their own shadow!". If you lived in Australia you would say, "They wouldn't say boo to a goose!"

She loved the phrase so much that she wrote an entire book about it.

Pete the Cat

We had a great first Reader's Theater Club meeting. Our young actors read Pete the Cat and performed the reader's theater.

We read Pete the Cat and watched an online read-aloud.
We did not have to introduce "Read like an actor" to these children! They were born ready!!!

We worked on the blog this afternoon and realized that the video is too large to attach!
We are going to continue working on it to see if we can make the file smaller.
For now, here are our young actors expressing their love for Reader's Theater...
"because it's all good!"
